I was born with a love for food. My entire life has been centered around how we grow, cook & enjoy food. I come from a matriarchal lineage of women who value good quality food that is meant to be shared with others. While I was studying at UVA at 20 years old, I committed to a fully vegan lifestyle after learning about how our choices impact every living thing in this world. This was my choice and so I define this as being a dietary liberation, not a restriction.

It matters to me that food is accessible and affordable. 1 in 13 Americans have a food allergy just like me. This is a dietary limitation that none of us chose. Therefore, I don’t believe it’s fair for us to be left out of enjoying celebratory foods.
I want for SNAP recipients to be able to enjoy a croissant. For a student to able to buy a gluten free cookie. For a single parent to be able to bring cupcakes confidently without worry of allergic reactions to their kid’s birthday party. This is why I am committed to providing quality baked goods to this community.

I chose the chanterelle mushroom as my logo and name for many reasons. The main being that it is an ecto-mycorhizzal fungi. Meaning it has a symbiotic relationship with the environment around it. Giving beneficial nutrients to the neighboring plant roots and vice versa harmoniously. I want you to see me as your chanterelle and know that I see you as my oak tree forest.
